LSA Voyager Amp mods

9-21-2021 : Finally, after almost 2 years wait, this amp is available to purchase.   There are some very favorable reviews on Audiogon and AudioAsylum.  This stereo amp is $3000 and has 350 watts a channel.   A very, very good stock amp....but my basic mod makes it even better.  Here is a description of the basic mod:

1. Resolder input wiring using much better sounding solder.

2. Better output wires: 14 gauge cyoed OFC wire with Teflon foam insulation soldered directly to the output board.

3.  Changing the stock binding posts to WBT 0703-CU jacks ($200 list price).

3. Elimination of the junk AC power/fuse/switch module.  This is replaced by a Cryoed and demagetized Furutech AC inlet,   The AC inlet wires are upgraded to 14 gauge OFC cryoed wires with Teflon foam insulation and soldered directly to the power supply.  There is no on off switch on the modded amp but the amp idles at 35 watts, so can be left on all the time.  If you really have to have a on/swtich, I can wire one in for TBD dollars.  It will, however, degrade the sound slightly.

4. I damp the chassis in critical places to lower resonances.

5. I change the output filter caps from polyester (mylar) to my modded Wima polyprops and install them so that the outside foil faces ground.

The price for all the above is $500 plus return shipping.    Please call me if interested.

Note for those seeking the best sound attainable:  The WBT binding posts are great sounding and do little to degrade the sound.  However, they are not quite as good as hardwiring-soldering or clamping your speaker cable to the cable that goes into the amp.  Therefore, I will be offering the following option:

The output wires dangle from the amp are the ends are soldered in a circle and are mouned on plastic bolts that are attached to a piece of painted hardwood. This plastic clamp system is totally transparent.  You tighten the wire to your spades or bare wire via a plastic wing nut.  Please see pics on the digital amp mod page.  You can not use bananas with this option.  This option is the same price as the WBT jacks.
Most people will want the WBT jacks as they can also use banana plugs with them and selling an amp with wires dangling outside is not easy.  However, for those that want the best sound......this is the real deal.  You can always install the stock jacks when selling the amp (I return the stock jacks with the ampifier).

The stock feet are not great (soft rubbery sounding).  Please upgrade the feet to spring things or other better feet.  I love the best Mad Scientist feet ($300 a set plus shipping).  However, people are getting good results from these cheap spring thangs:

If you put some damped weight on the top you will usually improve the sound.  I have a 10lb. small box of lead weights I use on top.  Do not put anything that rings directly on the top cover.  You want damped weight.  You can use a small cloth or towel underneath your weight.
